ON THE COVER
Mercy Chewetu is the founder and CEO of Queen of Chitenge Fashion in Zambia. She started her business nearly three years ago and now owns a boutique shop in Lusaka, 8 industrial sewing machines and employs 8 to 18 people on a part time basis. When she started her business, she was reluctant to open a bank account. That changed when she joined the female leadership training program from FMO and the Zambian banks. The training gave her the mental and financial push that she needed. She succesfully pitched her business and won a grant which allowed her to acquire the first industrial sewing machines for her company. Read Mercy's and other stories of women entrepreneurs >
