Mercy Chewetu is the founder and CEO of Queen of Chitenge Fashion in Zambia. She started her business nearly three years ago and now owns a boutique shop in Lusaka, 8 industrial sewing machines and employs 8 to 18 people on a part time basis. When she started her business, she was reluctant to open a bank account. That changed when she joined the female leadership training program from FMO and the Zambian banks. The training gave her the mental and financial push that she needed.
